Photo Challenge
05-12-2020, 08:23 AM
As a bit of fun each month, we run an informal Photographic Challenge, open to everyone.
There are no prizes, although if someone wishes to "Sponsor" the Challenge, I would be happy to talk to you about it.

This month's challenge, is chosen by last month's winner Nikolas, who says:
"I suggest, being that we are coming into Christmas, the festive season, that we could do with some joy so something "happy and festive" to lift our spirits, to see off what has been a crap year.

Thanks Nikolas. (how appropriate :) )

Your challenge, should you chose to accept it, is to WOW the judges (the voting public) with an appropriate photo that encapsulates "happy and festive".
Now you can do that by the absolute beauty of your image, by something unusual or unexpected in your capture, or by wackiness that makes us laugh.

It doesn't matter if you are a professional photographer with Thousand dollar equipment on an exotic location with a planned set up, or a simple Joe (or Joanne) out for a stroll with a camera phone and a spur of the moment happy snap. Either way, WE WANT YOU to submit an entry. Please.

I know I said this was just a bit of fun, but there are some rules (we all need rules right?)
The Rules:
* This thread is only for posting your entry, together with any comments/explanation/details you'd like to add about your own photo.
[sometimes this may help sway the judges]
* However, comments on other people's entries, or any "other" shots of your own you'd like to share, are welcome But in the appropriate place, the "Comments and Other Thread" -> HERE (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=1502281#post150228 1).
* And, please only one entry (that's just one image) per person in THIS Thread, (but you can change it out at any time if you get a better one)
* Importantly, the image must be your "own work" [which means you either took the shot or were instrumental in the planning and execution of the shot] and
* all other normal forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The image doesn't necessarily have to be taken this month, but, if you can, that is the object of the challenge!

In this regard, YES, the image may be an existing one that you have previously posted, unless of course it has already been voted a previous photo challenge winner.

The winner of the public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo immortalised in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck! :xmas:

Fiesta in Arequipa, Peru. Clearly not taken in the last month, but I don't
get out much.

Even though we have been housebound and restricted, some of us have decided that some lights in our yard may brighten the festive atmosphere. Cheers.🎄

Nothing says Christmas here like a Christmas bush with some galahs and cockatoos.

2021 New Year's festivities at Constitution Dock, Hobart, Tasmania ... and a great night with friends at The Druken Admiral.

Two simultaneously exploding fireworks captured at maximum break, gently illuminating the ship's mast on the right hand side of the image. Nikon Z50 handheld.

Best to one and all for A GREAT 2021
