The day started with clear blue skies and despite the jet stream overhead I set up my equipment on a dancing Sun ready to image in Ca K and Ha. Some small prominences were visible in both wavelengths. AR 2788 is still well visible but rotating out of view. It certainly is worth a look if you get the chance to observe it.

Nice set of images Gerard - I think the right side AR is 2786. What optics did you use for the CaK views? Cheers, John W.

Thanks for pointing that error out John.
The old boy has had a much needed little nap since then.
All Ca K shots were taken with an 80mm Orion Apochromatic Refractor with a Lunt filter.

Beautiful set of images, especially the CaK. The froth that the wavelength allows to be seen gives a different perspective of the sun.

Well presented set of images Gerard. I really like the 2 full disc shots.

Gerard,
Well done!
A nice collection of images....
(For CaK I use the ED80 stopped down to 60mm - it seems to give a better more uniform bandwidth at f10)
