Finally another couple of clear nights to get my head around CMOS imaging and the QHY600M.

Two hours or so on the LMC gave me this (http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery508.html)

Not too shabby?

I have some more adapters enroute from Precise Parts that should resolve some teeny image plane tilt issues, but over all I can see this being my wide-field go-to camera.

P.S. I've added a starless roll-over image same URL........have fun! :)

Hi Peter,
that's the start of a very nice wide field picture if you add some RGB.
There is so much detail in it. Wow.

The Moon will be gone in 2 weeks so you could try RGB then
or if you can't wait - then narrowband now. :)

cheers

One thing that is becoming clear with this sensor, and at the settings in use for this capture, is the well depth and resulting substantial dynamic range. Gives a new look and feel to well known vistas.

Oh so well done!

Thanks, very kind of you to say so.

Thanks, but the readout-mode I was using had decidedly less well depth than my KAF16803 camera. The resolution and size and QE of this sensor is however quite remarkable. The 9k x 6k original .fits has serious detail.

Coupled with a fine optic, it delivers a mosaic-quality vista without the mosaic workload.

But if you did construct a mosaic.....hummm....;)

Noice!

What tool/s do you use to remove the stars?

I rather like Makita....but my DeWalt 54V chainsaw rips through most things pretty well ... :)

Just kidding..... Starnet is now embedded in PixInsight.
(...and I know how much you adore the Pixinsight interface Marcus  )

 Oh Joy! :mad2:

Sorry I asked! If I have a spare few days I might research how to use it!

Thanks Andy...I need to get past this monochrome speed hump...with some luck I'll be able to get the other channels soon.

Very nice. Good to see the 130 put through its paces.
