Quite small at 3' X 1.4'
Magnitude 13.11 (photometric system: B)
Surface brightness 14.54 mag/arcmin^2

5 hours of 5min subs.
Cropped due to frame misalignment.

Hints and encouragement always greatly received :-)

Super image of a tiny faint fuzzy and with only a 6” aperture and 1050mm fl scope too

Yes I am using a dither before each frame.
It certainly seems to help and thanks muchly for the tip!

Last night was exceptional conditions.
Aside from a cable snag during the flip and a severe lack of sleep all went well.

Looks unreal, Pkay, the sharpness is awesome!
Did you give it the ol' SCNR kill green in pixinsight? To me, this might improve the image and possibly bring even more detail

I really get a kick out of capturing these small galaxies.

Will soon have a Ha filter so might be adding new data to the RGB images.

It will be a new challenge Pkay that’s for sure- I’ve got one coming via the mail on Monday after all these years-(I’m like a snail in this hobby) so I’m looking forward to trying HaRGB imaging with the modded DSLR too.
Look forward to seeing how you fair with it-
I’m busy collimating and adjusting the newt to get back into dso imaging since it’s been ages since my last capture.

Pretty darn good I would say as it is only a six inch triplet not a six inch Newtonian:D

nice work peter you have some good detail here.

in terms of some hints;
the image is black clipped in all channels.
might be worth cropping it in portrait to escape the gradient to the top right - can work pretty well with the star to the right too.
the galaxy can handle some selective sharpening which will make the dust pop a bit more if you were inclined to do so.

I did notice the gradient, but it was a choice of keeping the bottom right galaxy, or chopping it out.

Never tried selectively stretching the RBG channels.
I will give it a go.

Also will look at deconvolution again.
It has always been a image wrecker for me :-)
