Hello all,

Need to get 2" focuser to fit 2" visual back on Skywatcher Maksutov 180,
any suggestions?
Thanks

A GSO Crayford for SCTs' and an adapter is what you need unless you want another brand of focuser. I fitted one on to my Mak, the adapter was available from Bintel and may be available elsewhere.

Thanks, what kind of adapter? Picture please :-)
Bintel has no more adapter for that unfortunately.
Andrew has got focuser @$150 ish.

Sorry Neville, I don't have the scope any more to be able to measure the thread sizes for the adapter. It is whatever size the external thread at the rear of the Mak, where the diagonal fits and likewise, the internal thread of the SCT focuser where it would screw onto the rear of an SCT.
Tried doing a quick search for schematics of the GSO focuser but couldn't find any drawings, must be out there somewhere, surely.
Actually just found that the Mak thread is probably M44.5 X 1.0 P , the SCT focuser thread size may be 2.00" X 24 TPI . Whicg would mean that the adapter you would need would be M44.5 X 1.0 P internal thread and 2.00" X 24 TPI external thread.
Maybe someone else out there could confirm the sizes.

Hi when I had a 180 mak I purchased an adapter to convert to SCT from one of the UK suppliers.
