Since I am working from home because of COVID, I asked my boss if I could work from somewhere else. He said yes so I packed up and left Glebe's Bortle 9 for some dark sky. Now it's cloudy here :(

90 by 120 sec, darks + flats + bias
TV85 + ASI 1600 Pro MC, Guiding with ASI 120 MM Mini
0.8 Flattener/reducer/UV-IR filter

Taken from farmstay near Bathhurst, Class 2 Bortle

Two processings, Startools is easy to use but it can give an over-processed look. I pushed the second to get some more detail.

Very good result Z.

Not over processed at all.
This is what it should look like!

The first one is by far a lot better with more detail.

Great effort.

Paul,

That's a really nice image, well framed and processed
Colour is perfect
Well done !!

Yes its great when you can get out of all that muck called Sydney skyglow and hit some darker skies to image

Nice result!

Are you dithering your images? I ask because there is what appears to be a lot of walking noise in these, particularly noticeable in the brighter edit. It is harder to see in the darker version. Dithering should help with this.

fantastic detail in the flame. Love the colour contrast here. My latest attempt is all red which lacks interest (extreme filter).

Great detail and colour . A superb image. The amateur section is getting pretty polished.

Thanks Peter. More detail is always good but sometimes it's hard to know when to stop!

Yes I like these busy regions. Corona Australis and the region around Antares which I havn't shot yet are some of my favourites.

Thanks Fernando. A dark sky really helps. Tonight I am still in the Bathurst area but it's very windy. I am shooting 30 sec hoping that some of the subs fit in the wind gaps, but sometimes I am averaging 4 :(

Thanks Paul. It's hard to win. Saturday was great, Sunday was cloudy and tonight is windy. I have one night left so here's hoping.

I am not dithering yet Craig, but it is something I wish to try, thanks for suggesting it.

Thanks Robert. Yes you will always be better off with no filters under dark skies. There is always narrowband I guess. When I am back in Sydney I will try out my new ZWO duoband.

Thanks Ray. I used to image about 8 years ago, but stopped and stuck mainly with planetary. I still consider myself a beginner and of course I only have a mid-range rig, so I will stick here for a while.

I am thinking of using my C9.25 for imaging, definately will be a beginner with that :)

The flame and horse are very detailed and really stand out - this is an overall classic shot of the nebula that is always one that most astrophotographers would love to bag.
Excellent image Zuts.

Excellent image your focus is excellent.
Overall all your recent images are top shelf and I am sorry not to be able to comment upon each one as they come.

Thanks for the encouragement Lost.

New tech is great, this is far better than my previous attempt with my SBIG 2000 XCM.

Thanks for the compliment Alex. I am putting away the TV85 for a bit and getting out my Edge HD 9.25. I am sure I will come to regret it, but I want to bag some galaxies :)
