Another low northern target "done" with barely enough time to see much.
This is 3*120s for R G and B, 3*240s for Ha. Ha used as luminance. Total integration is 30mins at 139 gain zwo 1600mm, F5-ish william optics ZS81 with flattener

This was taken from Canberra astro society's northern dark site, about 45min from home. The views to everywhere except the south west are very good and quite dark.

I wish I had a camera angle adjuster on the zenithstar81! Maybe a Christmas gift idea :) I really didn't want to spend time rotating in the rings and then rebalancing.

Anyway, I can see it! Anyone else given this a go this far south? It's a bit higher than Andromeda, but lower than triangulum galaxy (which I spent most of my time on last night).

Definitely on a list for a trip out to a better site though! Well done

Hi JP

A fine image of the California Nebula, as you have found out , it is quite an accessible object from our latitudes. I imaged it last year from a site just north of Goulburn with an ED80 and focal reducer and a modded 450D.

Love the solid whispy detail. Though it's on the wrong coast :)

JP
Lovely image with limited data too
Well framed and colour is spot on
You certainly chase after the low ones that share each hemisphere which is great
No hope for me at either of my locations at those low altitudes
Keep them coming
