Hi all,

I bought a set of Astronomik LRGB filters to have a go at Mono imaging mainly Planets at this stage, the Blue looks Blue and the Green looks Green but the Red looks Orange when held up in daylight. Says on the filter 'Rot' which I guess is German for red.

Guessing as these are good quality there is no issue I have a Baader Red but a visual filter and it is indeed red.

Thanks for any info
Cliff

Back to basics Cliff.

If it looks orange, it's orange.

The meaning of Rot?
I only know rotwein, and I have a glass in my hand right now.
It's red!

Hi Cliff
I am slightly colour blind but I can see my red filter is very red ( an old set for planetsnot narrow band ones) so I reckon yours may have been made on Christmas Eve late afternoon after the office Christmas lunch..direct your question to the retailer or manufacturer...try a day time shot of a white sheet..it may be an orange filter that got put in a labled red filterbox by mistake.

Hi Cliff

Alex suggested shining a bright white light through the filter.
Is that red?
The Orange might appear as light that reflects off, but does not pass through the filter.
