It has been a while since I have put an image up. A couple of reasonable nights recently allowed me to grab 40 odd 300 second subs of NGC1365 (With what is now officially my sons scope, camera and mount) while I wait for what I am after in the wider field to get to good positions.

Scope was the C925SCT with an Astronmik L3 filter and 0.63 reducer/flattener, camera was the ASI294MC Pro. Captured using Voyager, integrated in APP with post in Photoshop.

Very fine! Good colour. Because the main subject is well off-centre, you could crop it and get more detail past the 200K thumbnail limit.

There are some faint fuzzies starting to show in the general field, but I'd still crop the main subject.

I decided to go rule of thirds'ish this time around, plenty of time left this season to go again with it centered (If we ever get a clear night) That is effectively only one nights data though shot over two nights.

It is a pity it is just too painful to look at changing cameras. The new ASI2600 is undeniably a better camera (Though it would be well oversampled on this scope) and I would love to see how it compares but I just can't quite come at the time and work to flip the 2600 on to the SCT to see how it performs, not with good imaging nights so few and far between this year.

Thanks, it is interesting to hit the same targets a year on from my first go at them. This one is definitely a nicer looking image than last years go at it.

Another version, cropped down on the GBS itself.
