I've recently jumped on the "Twilight Blend" bandwagon and I can see why it's been so fashionable lately, I know composite images can be a little controversial but my "justification" is that everything in the images was captured by me and my camera, usually at the same location, just processed separately.

What're your thoughts on the difference between photography and digital art? I guess it's similar to using the Hubble Palette.

Works for me Liam - thanks for posting.

I love composite images, but appreciate when people explain how the components were captured and combined.

Helps to create realistic expectations for others on the techniques required to generate similarly amazing results.

I'm actually thinking of making a short video series about photography centered around astro.
Astro covers so much of the fundamentals of photography and editing that I think it's the perfect background for a tutorial series.

Oh Wow..the first one is dreamlike, the second one is stunning and the third one is eerily beautiful. I have said in past posts for me Nightscapes are the most interesting and stunning of all the images on IIS. You create the wonder and awe of the skies above us by connecting with something we relate to.. Bravo!

Wonderful images, really enjoyed looking at them.
I don't see them as controversial, just another way of telling your story.

My personal preference is to shoot for the foreground and background at the same time (ie minutes apart), so that the light is not excessively different on the foreground to what it would be at night-time. Different feel as the foreground whilst properly exposed, feels like night time....if that makes sense.:)

A mate of mine has a different philosophy: he says he only needs one Milky way shot, and lots of landscapes!:rofl:

But amazing skill/talent Liam, as has already been said.

Hahaha, I have to admit, I don't disagree with your mate :rofl:

I've seen so many "twilight blended" images lately that still have a daylight white balance in the foreground, and crisp shadows that I can see why people are sceptical of the process. Or maybe I'm just getting snobbish as I see it becoming more popular.
