Does anyone make a small light weight 'action cam' type camera with screen that can drop straight into a scope? I have and use adapters for my SLR's but sometimes it would be nice to have something like my Osmo Action that I could remove the lens and screw an adapter onto. This would be for birding/daytime video/photos.

There are a few brackets that allow you to attach your phone (camera) to a scope. I use the this one, the NexYZ adaptor with my Celestron Spotting scope and it works just fine.

Cheers Glen. Yes, I have a similar one but I'm wanting to use the refractor as the lens - like we can with an SLR. Having said that, I haven't done the math on the sensor size of an action cam v the focal length of the scope - may end up giving ridiculous magnification. I'd better look into that!

Ah, it would appear an action cam on a ED80 would be equivalent to a 3386mm lens on a full frame camera. That could be a little high :)
