View Full Version here: : The Sun in Ca II K 14102020
I started today's imaging session in Ha, dodging clouds and murky skies in my first attempt to double stack.... enough said about that.
However, I have included an image of a quiet Sun in Calcium light featuring AR12775 and AR12774 with Earth added in for comparisons.
The little blip on the eastern horizon may be a new AR rotating into view.

Thanks for posting Gerard.
Quiet Sun indeed, but so dynamic when things do happen. Nice to see those active regions and maybe that is another AR coming around.
Found this today on CNights, maybe useful.

I now have all in readiness to see if my ghosting is gone and hope to try tomorrow morning.
And the double stack story ...

Gerard,
Well done mate!
I'm glad to see others are managing to get some solar observing.
Been pretty terrible here in Vic.
When you're ready drop me a PM about the double stacking.....
Thanks Peter and Ken.
Today's session was filled with glitches. I'm glad that persistence paid off at the end of it all.
