So sweet, but its sad that they will grow up to be bullies.
Great pics by the way.

Thanks Raymo.. The brush wattlebirds are sure noisy in the mornings with their Cockay cok cok, but the coast would not be the same without them. At least these ones are not raising Koel cuckoos which is what happened last year.
I should try from the roof with my manual 800 lense.

I don't know about yours, but ours violently drive out all smaller honey eaters
from their territories.

Ah. Well not sure ours do that. They are certainly are not afraid of the water dragons climbing the tree or any other bird near their nest.
I think that is more the noisy miners here that chase out the other birds and I have heard that bell birds are also territorial. We have lots of tiny honey eaters also..
I think there are quite a lot of different wattlebirds around the country.

The ones around our suburb are fearless, they keep attacking Magpies, Crows and currawongs

They are out there now. Barely a week after hatching they jumped out of the nest and fluttered into a shrub before the rain hit.

Cool Ray.
We have Doves 'of some sort' nesting in out Maccadamian Nut tree at moment, when the chicks were younger, about a month ago, they were being harrassed by local Miner-Birds, violant buggars, mum was doing best protecting, but I helped her out by loading the Gel-Blast rifle :tasdevil:

The miners are a pain. We get slender cuckoo doves in our trees, the brown ones. I wish I had a gel gun to black out our side of the street light.

The Noisy Miners took out most my Zebra Finches in an aviary a couple of decades ago, attacked them through the wire one after the other over a week.
Just realised we have Crested Pidgeons in nut tree, not doves.
Might need better than a Gel gun to take out a street light, , Paint balls maybe ?
