Here is my best Orion Nebula to date.
Modded 840k Toucam in ED80
8 x 120 second frames stacked in Registax, processed in Photoshop and PS Pro.
Still that rotten amp glow though! :(
I am very happy with this one, but I'm still going to try and get a better one
This one had some ugly noise near the core, so I used 'smudge tool' to try fix it :P

Is that a Planetary Nebula in the top right corner, or just some wierd star Artifact?
That is superb Ken, you're doing amazing work.
Keep it coming.
I suppose to remove the amp glow you can apply a dark frame.
Take an equal length dark exposure and we can try and subtract it.

Thanks Andrew, I am determined to get the best I can out of the Toucam. I'm sure I can gain more detail and yet get less noise and core burnout in objects. Just gotta keep experimenting with capture levels and processing methods. A peltier cooler (or a block of ice) would probably help too
I've also done the dark frame of the same frame length, Andrew. But Dark frames don't subtract Amp glow.

Ken no wonder all the "Guns"are selling their cameras to upgrade with you snapping at their heels with the shots you are getting;) .
You seem to have polar better again:thumbsup: .
A cooler may help d.i.c.k smith has a car cooler for sometimes $20 to $25 which gives you a cooler unit and fan.
I have built a cooler for my camera by pulling one of these units down.
Great work mate you should be very proud and your positive attitude will reward you:thumbsup: .

Great work Ken, you should be really happy with that. A noise reduction program could also be of some help for your noise.

Alex, there are smaller peltier coolers available and cheap. I just have to get one. Will check Jaycar in Ballarat.
I have one. 'Neat Image'. Here is the same pic with about 70% noise taken out.
Going great guns there Ken. Its pleasing to see people pushing equipment to the maximum.
Great imaging Ken, you are definitely the man with the Toucam.
Cheers
