While messing around imaging yesterday, i found galaxy that had a recorded Supernova in it, only a few weeks old !. Just wanted to know its magnitude, and checked the web, and found it was a supernova candidate.
200 Seconds exposure and binned 4x4, camera QHY8, scvope 14" RCX @ f8.
12th Mag, 4.3 Arc sec in size.
Kinda cool to see it while it shines, or explodes !. At the topeft side of galaxy arm.
The other image is from the DSS survey.

I was only 4 weeks off, shame. It was dicovered by a Japanese chap.
Oh well, maybe next time.
But these things dont shine for long, and 4 weeks is a fair while. Wonder how much longer it keeps at that mag.
