M16 Eagle

I was waiting for Mars to clear the house (0300 ish) so I was doing some other things of interest. One was M16. I got about an hours subs before it got too low on the horizon, which was throwing out the guiding ... and introducing trees.


This is near 100% crop, and the short focal length (478mm) and no barlow means a small target.



We get some more clear nights soon (yay!) so I will add more data and see what happens.

Good work Jeff! Very impressive to be guiding away and building on targets over multiple nights already. This is a sharp start, looking forward to seeing what comes of it. There is a LOT of faint nebulosity around the core that you have there. Even at you focal length it will fill at least half of an aps-c frame :)
