View Full Version here: : Baby Scorpion in the shower
Hi Guys, just out of curiosity, if one comes across a baby Scorpion in the shower, alive and well is one expected to meet Mum and/or Dad somewhere in the house
Should I be worried

Nah... it's ok. They like dark and moist places. Little ones are harmless. Got stung O/S by a 5cm one. Hardly felt it. A wasp is bloody sore in comparison.

They are one of the few creatures whose nastiest varieties are not native to Australia. You wouldn't want to treat one from the Middle East or north Africa
in a cavalier fashion.

Thank you gentlemen, have a nice day.

Scorpion deadliness can be determined by the size of the pincers and the tail. Small pincers and a large tail usually indicate that it use a more potent venom to attack and kill its prey. Larger pincers and a small tail usually indicate the opposite, it relies more on its pincers than the venom in its tail.
As stated, we do not really have anything too venomous in Aus (makes a change from some of the other creatures here:lol:) although you may get a bit sickly for a few days. Kids can be effected much more although it would be very rare for it to be fatal.
Catch it in a jar and move it outside away from the house if you are concerned, no need to kill it.

I seem to recall that the little ones were the most deadly.
