A nice Jupiter and Saturn in steady seeing, again from last night. One of the NTB outbreaks on Jupiter is prominent, can't keep track of which one. :P

GSO 10" Newtonian at F16, Svbony SV305, Svbony barlow, NEQ6 Pro modified.

Captured in Sharpcap, stacked in AS!3, levels etc in Photoshop.

The Svbony SV305 uses the Sony IMX290 chip, much like an ASI 290mc. Seems good for a camera on a budget. I think R-G-B mono imaging produces nicer colour though over OSC cams like this. Or maybe I just need more practice. :P

Well captured and processed Kevin. You're giving that SV305 a good run and showing that for around $200 it's a a very capable contender. I was wondering how they would perform so thanks for buying one! Can you do deep sky with them too?

Very good images especially Jupiter, shows one of the storm outbreaks nicely. Could be leading to a new dark cloud band formation.
As you noted RGB mono imaging seems to have better colours after processing compared to OSC but that means more imaging time and extra processing and filling up hard drives with avis' even faster.
Having looked at the specs for the SV305, it does not seem to be capable of as fast a frame rate and less Gain settings control. Possibly a reason for the cheaper price compared to the ASI290.
What ROI were you using and what frame rate did that achieve.

Thanks Troy.

They do deep sky in a very basic form. A DSLR does a better job for DSO's.

Jeff, the SV305 maxes out at 130fps. I was using an ROI of 640x480 I think from memory. Jupiter was 42ms, gain 8. Saturn I think was full gain with similar exposure.

Ace shots of these familiar gas giants. You’ve made the most of the good seeing Kev well done.
