Imaged Jupiter September 15th in good seeing at all wavelengths. Have a significant volume of data and it is all good, have animations at all wavelengths other than UV. Have good depth of resolved detail across the field. Of course outburst #1 dominates these data, I quite like Damian’s description of it as “The Jovian Comet” seems quite appropriate. Other detail I note is a concentrated bright spot within the NEB resolved at all wavelengths along with a very dark thin band on the Southern edge of the NEB; particularly prominent in IR and CH4 data. All data from this session has been uploaded to PVOL.

That's awesome Trev. Love the colors you're getting. Mine's too green. Again. That CH4 filter you're using is that Methane? Also do you need longer exposures when using UV?

Yep Marc CH4 is Methane, I have the ZWO filter which is centered on the Methane line so a 20nm pass centered on the 889nm line. The CH4 and UV clearly need longer exposures. I play with the exposure to get a frame rate that I am happy with. I don't like maxing out the histo so try for around 90% with an exposure for CH4 that gives me 30fps and with the UV 20 fps. I guess this is where the aperture plays a big part when using filters such as CH4 & UV and to a lesser extend the various IR filters.

20fps in UV is impressive. You've got a light bucket.

I should also have added that for CH4 and UV I use 2x Binning.

Excellent. I have a UV baader filter supposed to be good for Venus. Will try it out.
