This came up quite nicely given we only invested 6 hours into it, of which 2 hours worth of frames were discarded. Was more a test to compare the Chroma 3nm filters against last years attempt using the 7nm ZWO set. The filters are definitely a step up on the ZWO 7nm narrowband set.

Was also our first crack at using the Chroma 3nm filters on our Celestron Edge HD 8 (we'd just changed over from our 70mm APO to we could get this and follow it up with Helix nebula).

Settings used were 180 sec, 139 gain, 20 offset, -10 sensor temp and bin 2 (we go bin 2 on the Edge HD 8 and bin 1 on the APO).

Total 4ish hrs comprising of 30x exposures at 3 mins on each channel. Not bad for imaging at F7, 10km from Sydney CBD.

From the bright centre of Sydney that's a most impressive result.

I suspect you'll get better results by increasing the sub-exposure times.

The focus looks a little off and some elongation is going on with the stars.

Nice image scale though. Stick with it
