Got away for a while but managed a few extra hours of HA Oiii and RGB under a bright moon.

Maybe 180 minutes of 180 sec shots in Oiii Ha at 75 gain and another 90minutes of RGB the same on the 1600 .

f5 newt with OAG. No corrector but that is what PS is for.

Wow! never seen M17 that colour before. Must be the combination of filters.

Thanks Marc. Not sure f5 is so much of an improvement over f5.9 but getting closer is good sometimes. The 1600 is way better at 1000mm than the 183 and strangely , better colour.

Well spotted Raymo. Head still on holiday. Here are the versions with more RGB . . You can see the moon glow in those and the fuzzy guiding.

Noice :). That's the colour I ended up with also. There is a rainbow of options in Astrobin examples so thank for confirming I'm not way out on the fringe:thumbsup:

Thanks Wes. The problem with my HOO images is that the sensitivity of the 1600 and amount of Ha overwhelms the process with red. It takes a little squeezing to get back the blue. I should learn to double my Oiii exposure or splash out on a Baader Sii to match.

Thanks Martin. I suppose the next step is to mask out those stars with their weird little halos and put back rgb stars with some better colour. May be a little beyond my software skills.
