Coonabarrabran. Where to set up Scope??

Hi, Im heading out to Coonabarrabran this month. Want to stay in town but travel to a site to do some milky way DSLR pics.

Anyone recommend a good spot to set up scope that's away from town and dark?

Could drive into Warrambungle but the return journey late at night might be a bit tricky given the roos out.

Any suggestions welcomed

Its a way out of town, but I stayed at Pilliga Pottery a month or so back. There is a good opening there out the back of the guest house bit, grassy paddocks all over, there are some lights around, but the sky was amazing. The drive back is mostly on the highway (30mins or so), but with 10km of dirt thrown in at the pottery end. Its a nice place to stay, too, if you're open to changing your mind about being in town :)
