I recently refunded the price on my WO FD90mm Scope back to the purchaser who was not happy with the ' slipping ' Focuser ( the fine focuser knob ) was slipping on the ' outward ' travel of the drawtube.

Easy fix ..... removed the offending knob ( which was missing it's ' grub ' screw )....I knew I had a ' Brass Knob ' somewhere in my cupboard ... found it, checked it had its ' grub screw ' ..all good ..fitted it without issue.... 2 x speed is working as it should...very smooth in and out.

Moral of the story .... never throw away or sell items which could be used sometime down the track.

The Brass Knob has been in the cupboard for 6 years at least.

1st pic is offending 2 x speed knob ...2nd pic is the new one fitted.

Another moral of the story: most people are totally helpless when something simple like this happens... basically it was only adjustment?

Even professionals will attempt to repair second hand equipment, if nothing is obviously broken beyond repair.. and even then....

Sounds like the original just needed a $0.20 grub screw...

Yes, your right, but I didn't have one that would fit it .....so I hunted down the other Brass Knob.

Can I buy the scope for $0.50? :P

I was tempted when it was up...

No ... you may not ...I've decided to keep it and ' dress ' it up with a new MoonLite Focuser.

Been talking to Ron at MoonLite

If I intend to spend this sort of $$'s , I aim to keep it.
