Hi Guys, found these photos and seeing it was wet cold and wintry and i spent most of my time being bored, I thought you may enjoy the past like i did.
A picture tells a tale form time past, check out the up to date Child Car Seat that was top of the range at time.

Plus the others tell their own story.

I do remember travelling on the Southern Aurora as small child in the 60s.
Some of the trains in Southern France still have the old dog boxes but they are not so much fun now.

I also remember a slow combustion stove and oven the size of a small car which heated the water. Not a Canberra but a Carmichael.

Thanks Guys, Paul, my dear wife Alice actually finds all this stuff, she is part of a group of people who delve deep to find things of the past, especially from the Ballart and surrounding areas.

Leon,

I can remember my baby sister travelling in one of those car seats. The TV licence is interesting as I had forgotten all about the need to have one - we rented from Radio rentals so they covered that. As for cars, I remember my boss at Neutral Bay had an ad for a new Morris Cowley. 185 pounds ($370) brand new in 1930.

Cool, thanks Leon. I can’t see the WD40 one making it past the drawing board these days hey!?

Cheers Leon .I remember those Kero heaters had one in the 70’s.However the WD40 add made me chuckle wonder how that would go down today in our world of political correctedness.

I travelled on the Southern Aurora in 1972 (I was 9!) with my dad. He had to go to Sydney for a week for work. We were living in Traralgon so we headed down to Melbourne on Friday afternoon, caught the train and I stayed at my Grandmothers place for the week. Can still remember having dinner and then dad took me with him to the lounge car. It was a huge adventure sharing the cabin with my dad.

Hi Leon,

That kids car seat is a beauty! LMAO
It would be fine today if it had an airbag installed. ;-)

Cheers.

I have just attempted to post an image in this thread only to be informed that it is not secure.

Thanks Leon,
It may be my security system that is causing the problem.

When I go into IIS it tells me it is not secure, but doesn't affect anything I do
here.

Hey Leon,

So with a farmstay, do you pay for your stay or do you work in lieu of payment?

Happy to see you guys having a real fun time whatever the deal is

Lovely to hear from you Leon, the BLF card was a union thing and not something that one would flash about.

No Paul we don't pay for anything and as i look after the Grounds they actually pay me a small wage.
So we live for free, have what ever we need and get some dollars for our efforts, cant get much better than that.

Sounds terrific Leon. I wonder if they have that sort of thing over here in WA!
