Hi,
I got my first look at Saturn just this year and WOW:eyepop: ! I couldn't wait to try and photograph it. These are my 1st and 2nd Saturn Pic's. Both taken through my 8" GSO dob afocally with a Cannon A75 digital camera, processed through registax following Mike's helpful hints.

The first was a stack of about 150 frames from 900, the second a stack of about 200 from 8000 (lots of blurred or fuzzy frames). I'm far happier with the second than the first. Magnification was about 160x through a 15mm plossel with 2x barlow.

How do you, more experienced photographers configure your wavelets for Saturn? The second shot was high (~10) on wavelets 1-3 and then negative on the rest. I don't have a clue what I'm doing with them  but it seemed to work. What would be a better configuration? Thanks for your help,

Dan

Hi Dan, they are great images very clear and detailed.
I am a Registax newbie so I'll leave your question to the experts.

Cheers

Excellent work! That second one is great!

My first attempts were nowhere near as good as this!

As Mike said excellent work, the A75 in that mode shows potential.

Man, I'm jealous - I wish I could pump up my skills with both the scope and the camera to be able to produce something like you've done, Dan!

Well done!

Thanks for your feedback guys. I wish I could afford a scope with tracking and a ccd cam, but I'll have to make do with what I've got for now.

I cant wait to have a go on Jupiter in a few weeks when it peeks over my house at a reasonable time!
