One of those pics that I had thought "Not really nice enough for IIS"... but now, with so much rain and no sky time I think "these people need to see this!".
Here is a pretty average effort on a pretty cool field.
As far as I know, from left to right we have IC 2581 cluster, NGC 3247 (the whirling dervish... sensational name!) and NGC 3199 (the banana nebula).
These are in Carina, along with so many other goodies... I think thats probably part of the reason that they don't get too much attention. There are a few Wolf-Rayet stars in here, and a bunch of O stars too. Its special, yo!
If I remember correctly this is 4 or 5 x 15mins in Ha and Oiii, rendered here in HOO and a straight Hydrogen alpha ditty because I like the detail in it a bit better. No dithering, which I blame for every single pixel on the sensor looking like it has been dragged down a chalkboard. Can't wait to fix that.
Really not even close to a decent amount of data, and now its out of range. I think I see enough here that I'm keen to jump on it when the huge merry-go-round in the sky spins it back up at a decent hour.
