Hi all,
I'm looking for an autofocuser and wondering which way to go, if there are any to stay away from, or which ones people have had consistent success with.
I have a Crayford 10:1 style focuser.
Thanks

I use a zwo focuser, works pretty well and you can get extras such as a hand controller and external temperature sensor. Has quite a bit of backlash though I had to use a dial indicator to get it dialied in, I'm not sure if this is typical of all focusers or just the cheaper ones. Is this a gso crayford? If it is you will need to make a bracket for it, the only turnkey solution for them that I'm aware of is the lunaticoastro focuser that has a bracket.

Howdy
I have the Pegasus focus cube 2
I comes with temp probe & all fittings required
I also purchased the optional manual controller for when I do visual
It all works extremely well
I purchased this from Cyclops Optics, no hassle with dealing with them at all & shipping was extremely fast considering it comes from Hong Kong ( last shipment was purchased last Saturday & arrived on Thursday , I purchased the manual hand controller for focus cube )
I used this on my WO132 rack & pinion focuses, using SGpro
I run automatic focus & get perfect V curve & pinpoint stars
Good luck

I have a ZWO one. You don’t specifically need a temperature probe with them as they have a sensor built in as well, though they don’t seem to advertise that. I didn’t buy a hand controller as I drive it via software for astrophotography. I have not noted any significant amount of backlash in it. I use about 100 steps to tame any backlash between it and the focuser on the scope itself.
