Had a squiz at the new moon and lo and behold, some one musta stuck it on the wrong way around, compared to the image on this page and at a slightly different angle......ergo, the Prof. Julius Sumner Miller question.:whistle::whistle:

I'd suggest looking out the window first, and then just use the rest of the data on the moonphase page :)

I like this page for moon phases - just above the "month" calendar you can click to customise it for Southern or Northern hemisphere aspect, or below the month in detail you can quick jump to a given month, year, etc.
