First nightscape for quite some time. I recently travelled up to the Sunshine Coast to visit family and managed to capture this one evening.

It is a two panel mosaic with each panel comprised of 7 exposures stacked in Sequator. I tried a bit of light painting on the tree but the battery in my torch started to die so it was only partially successful. Each exposure was 15 seconds at ISO 3200 and f2.8 with a Pentax K-5 DSLR through a Samyang 14mm f2.8 lens.

Lake Weyba is a shallow lake not far from Noosa on the Sunshine Coast and the 'Weyba Tree', which hangs out over the water on the western side of the lake made for a good foreground object. :)

That's really nice. Cool composition with aligning that tree.

Great nightscape. The foreground and the lake is a perfect subject and well taken. The Samyang 14 is a great lense. You were lucky to get there when you did. Can not see family now in Marcus Beach and Eudlo. No access to Queensland.

Cheers Marc!

Thanks Ray - yep the Samyang is a great lens for the money.

Yes I was very lucky to get in when I did. I'd been planning to go up since April & my flight arrived on the Sunshine Coast 10 minutes after the borders were officially opened.:)

Thanks Greg!

Here's another shot from the same location taken at dusk whilst waiting for it to get dark:

Thanks Bob and Dave! :hi:

There is a bit of noise evident in the high-res version - perhaps I should stack a dozen or more images next time?
My trusty Pentax K-5 is 8 years old now so not too bad considering.
