After managing to take a deep sky series for Djorg 2, I decided against a meridian flip and instead, replaced the Tak x0.8 Reducer with a TeleVue x2 Powermate, to record some images of the fast rising Moon.

The seeing wasn't quite up to the x2 Powermate, but once I down-sampled the images, they scrubbed up quite nicely.:)

I have noticed that on the Mewlon 210 with the x2 Powermate and ASI1600MM camera field of view, the edges do suffer a little, although this is as expected from a DK Cassegrain design.

Thank you John, Pete and Derek, I appreciate your comments.:)

I must say, it was a real pleasure to switch from the night's faint DSO target of Djorg 2 to our local, bold, bright, easy to find and focus, detailed Moon.:D

Outstanding resolution and clarity!

Would the view from the window of the Apollo Command Module have been any better? I doubt it.

Thank you Marc, Dave & DarkArts for your comments, I appreciate them.:)

@Marc - I decided it was time to dust off the 'scope again and get outdoors again, a long time between drinks.:)

I had the x2 Powermate and the seeing did not hold up, but down sampling the images in post did tighten them up and made them reasonable for the conditions.

Cheers

Dennis
