Hi All
A large prominence on Sol today near the new sunspot AR2770. Imaged in mediocre seeing caused by gusty westerly winds.

Nice job Jeff, You should superimpose a simulated Earth in among the flames
to illustrate how large the Sun and the flames are. By the way, how did you know which direction the wind
was coming from on the Sun?:rofl::rofl:

Well the prom is on the western limb , rotating toward us and the sun was past the meridian, so was to the west of north and the wind was in my face looking that way so it had to be from the west, in your direction. Logical really, all the hot air is in the west. :P
Have seem plenty of others superimpose an earth for scale, maybe I should try it one day.
