Hi folks
I was imaging in suburban Adelaide last night and managed to encounter some really good seeing near midnight, and so made the most of it.
Probably my sharpest images yet. both via C11-2x barlow - ASI290MC camera. 90 secs on Jupiter, 4 mins on Saturn.

You've managed some very good detail on Jupiter in particular, well done!

Very good detail captured in Jupiters image and Saturn is pretty good as well, seeing counts for a lot with the planets.

Thanks everyone for your comments. This is my best Jupiter to date, though I also have some good Jupiters from last year. I am particularly happy with Saturn as it is much less noisy than my prior efforts and I can see hints of the Encke Gap, Crepe Ring and maybe also a moon in the top RH corner.
I have been slowly improving my capture setup and techniques over the past few years so I can be ready when those rare nights of great seeing coincide with when I have time to do this stuff. Many times I have been ready but conditions deteriorate. That is the roll of the dice, getting lucky when already set up and good to go.
This time I got lucky.
Though I guess luck does tend to favour the pre-planned and pre-pared !

Nice ones, it's good when it all comes together. Tonight is the 3rd night in a row of very good seeing here.

Thanks Graeme. After Firecapture, I used Autostakkert for the best 40% of images, then Registax wavelets to sharpen the detail, and some minor contrast and colour correction in Photoshop.
Love the detail brightness of your images. Great work.
