Not bad, not bad at all.

I placed an order last Monday from Adirondack Video, at 1:50pm Qld time (10:50 pm NY time so office is closed) and it rocks up at my door today (Wed nesday) at 2:00 pm. Now that is not bad delivery time when you consider they wouldn't have even seen the order until 9:00 am NY time the next morning.

People who have never lived in the USA constantly seem to knock American enterprise over here for some reason. It's often perceived as being slow, bloated, disorganised and all together inefficient. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Their courier systems cope with absolutely unheard-of quantities to absolutely unheard-of destinations and seem to get it brilliantly right most of the time.

Yes, Paul, I've had similar experiences. Don't forget that Australia Post handles this end unless it's a courier delivery (e.g. FedEx).

I have used Australia Post for most of my business shipping for the last 15 to 20 years. I also have no complaints. As a general rule they are an efficient organisation. Most of my shipments are despatched via registered mail (in order that there is a tracking facility) and I've only had one (1) item go missing in all that time and even that could be put down to the fact that the organisation involved (a nation wide company) for some strange reason gave me an address that they had not occupied for over two years. Given that I send a few hundred items each year I reckon that they have a pretty good track record.

Whilst these days I use few couriers (though I used to) in the sense of losses and damage the couriers would lose by a T.K.O.

Yes Jeanette I already have the ATiK manual filter wheel for the DMK planetary camera. Those GStars look very tempting that's for sure. If you get one it will be great to try it out next to the DMK.

Purely planetary? ToUcam, Sac4.2 and DMK. Sold the LPI :)
Purely DSO? 300D, Olympus OM1 (you remember film?), DSI and the ATiK

Both the ATiK and DMK are suitable for both by the look of it, though the ATiK is no racehorse when it comes to download speed. I can get exposures down to 0.001 sec but it takes 3 sec to download :lol:

oohhh, nice timing Paul. I've short listed one of these as something to cut my teeth on for longer exposure type stuff, then relegate it to auto-guiding duties at a later date.

Interested to hear some feed back once the clouds clear. :lol:
