SW flex tube dob question

Hi just purchased one of these and am puzzled by the bolts opposite the lock down sliding bolts.

From what I guess your question is about
The silver bolts are to lock the sliding bits so they dont slide when you set up.
I think the black plastic bolts are to adjust the resistance of the slide. How easily it goes up and down once the silver bolts are loosened.

Found it on the Skywatcher website manual

I have a Skywatcher 12” Goto dob
My 3 black spring loaded flat lock bolts don’t quite latch in to the holes properly because the 3 trusses are not perfectly aligned vertically and horizontally , so I’m really relying on the 3 small chrome tension cross bar bolts to lock everything in. Skywatcher manual says don’t tighten these little chrome bolts too tight but I do and no issue with the scope after 2 years use

Yes, but the manual has no word on the other bolts to which, I assume, 5ash is referring.

These black “screws” or “bolts” are not screws or bolts but spring loaded locking pins which should not require any intervention, when you extend your scope along the truss rods or tubes to the full extent , these pins are meant to Align with a hole and self lock in position under spring tension. The only bolt or screw you should have to touch are the 3 little chrome tension cross bar bolts.
Does that make sense ?
That’s why it’s not mentioned in the manual , however they should have mentioned the purpose and operation of these black spring loaded pins in any case !!
