Hello all :hi:

Anyone bought this scope from APM?

https://www.apm-telescopes.de/en/telescopes/refracting-telescopes-ota/apochromates/ts-optics/ts-optics-photoline-125mm-f-7.8-fpl53-lanthanum-apo-2.5-focuser.html

It is f7.8 and I plan to use it with a 8300 CCD. Considering it's 'slow' do I need a field flattener/corrector if I want to use it at full focal length?

I have the AP's CCDT67 to make it 'faster' but this is not a flattener. Should I get the dedicated 0.79x reducer/corrector (more $$$)?

Appreciate your comments

Mik

That depends on how much distortion you’re willing to put up with. You can always give it a go and see if you’re happy with the level of correction but you’d be better off with a flattener.
