Here's a couple of shots I reprocessed with the beta version of Startools. It's got some pretty cool features and is super fast now it's using the GPU as well. These were RGB LUM shots that I took with the CN-212 one night of average seeing last year and I was really disappointed with the softness especially in
the trifid. Probably went to town a little with the deconv but hey you live only once hey? :P

PS: added a repro of the keyhole too. Happier with the stars and overall details

Very nice Marc. The Trifid in particular is very sharp with the little antenna showing up very clearly.

Cool Marc. Really like how the stars appear in Startools images.

Interesting to see imaging processing aps moving into the GPU space....your gaming system now has a new life ;)

or in Troy's case he can make the case for a new gaming system

Thanks Greg. Yes you can "imagine" it with averted vision ;)
I had big plans for these two shots but I was pretty bummed out with the seeing conditions. These rescued versions I'm a little happier with.

Thanks Pete. My stars are all legit mate, at least with this telescope  I masked them so I don't touch them but I bulldozed everything else on this one to sharpen the field.

Troy's getting a gaming system? Or does he have one already? The "ASAHI" box?

The Lagoon is an absolute cracker Marc. The detail around the Hourglass in particular is superb. Can't think of another one to match it.

Thanks Mike. Considering it's a LUM and not Ha it's ok.

Very nice detail in all three Marc, even more so considering it's only Lum and not narrowband!
I'm really liking the detail in Carina though, very nicely handled.

Thanks Colin. Just been doing repros lately. Not much clear sky here lately with any decent seeing. Although that could change this Wednesday onwards. Fingers crossed.

The Key hole (eta Carina) shot is outstanding Marc. The detail is superb.

awesome stuff Marc, and seriously that Eta C is awesome, reckon you might go ultra hdr and pop the lobes in?

Thanks guys. I'd like to do the homunculus separate with a planetary camera and barlow the scope to 8m or so. You need a night of exceptional seeing to do this as well.
