You look up out of your dome from your laptop and see cloud just about to pass over your imaging field :help:....only to step outside, look up..and realise it is the bloody Milky Way!

I shouldn’t have looked at my dark site skies... pretty much moonless and perfectly clear...
While stuck down in Melbourne... not so much

I have a skylight above my bed that I am replacing with heavy clear plastic so I can lift my eye patch and check or just lay on my back in the dark an look up...and in the new roll off there will be a bed so I can stay close to the action but I plan to hang the 80mm binos on some rope somehow to be able to lay there whilst I am waiting for photons and enjoy the visual...something like a pulley and counter weight so they don't strain my arms.

Oh yeah, been there, done that. What's worse is if you've had a bout of high level wispy cloud around, you start second guessing everything. :)
Very clear skies right now, but the wind is making the seeing bad.

I have lost track of the number of nights that a high wispy stray cloud blocked my guide star and SGP alerted me and abended the run, trudged out in the cold to close the roof and the cloud was gone. DOH.
Been great here at the moment, last couple of nights very nice, good guiding.
Cannot see the Milky Way though, I'm in the city and my scope is in the country.
Gotta love brothers and remote control! :D

 First time I saw the LMC at Wiruna, Joe Cauchi was next to me and I asked him what's that cloud. It's not moving.

"Clear sky"... except for the very high level wispy crap everywhere. sigh. Tonight is ruined.

Similar here also in NSW. Looks like this new moon period may be a total loss.
