What an awe-inspiring image..

It looks like artwork from those fantastic artists that create images of other worlds..

If you look closely at the "big version" (right click to open as usual) there is a conspicuously bright speck over where the lower half of the moon should be.

Hot pixel, or a satellite of some sort .... any other suggestions?

I too noticed that, Steve. At first I thought it could be light from a bright background object refracted through the atmosphere, however there are no other bright objects in the 'space' section of the image.

On looking closely it appears to my be-glassed eyes that there is a very faint vertical trail beneath the spot. So it could be launch of some description (though I wouldn't expect the trail to be so straight and vertical). My guess therefore is that it's some sort of artefact produced by the processing or chips, or perhaps a rogue reflection of some description.

To be honest I don't know. Lovely image - quite surreal.

Truely an awesome sight that can only be witnessed by a privilged few and shared amongst many....
As for the speck..I thought it might be a spot of light reflecting off/along/through the porthole from the inside..
Still...a beautiful image.
Cheers!
