Grant Imahara, ‘Mythbusters’ Host, Dies at 49

Sad news today.

Variety reports that Grant Imahara, an electrical engineer and former host on the popular TV show “Mythbusters”, has died at 49.

Imahara has died suddenly following a brain aneurysm, The Hollywood Reporter reports :-

Growing up with mythbusters, seeing an Asian educator of science on a popular show really inspired me in school to pursue a higher education in science and eventually teaching math and science. If it wasn't for him, I doubt I would be as interested in science (or astronomy for that matter). The only thing I can think of to honour his name is to continue what we do and educate the next generation in scientific literacy and knowledge.

I was only just saying I can't imagine how many young people he would
have inspired to take up a career in engineering or science, or simply
to be interested in it.

I'd be pretty sure your words would have meant a lot to him.

Grant was a senior member, has an article entitled "Celebrating the Life
of Roboticist Grant Imahara, “MythBusters” Cohost", which details some
of the highlights of his rich professional career.
