I was watching a programme on tele all about a virtual reality game,in which businesses, can operate,on line.
The hosts say the is at least 20,000 people logged onto the site,world-wide,at any given moment.
I had an idea, why doesn't someone like Richard Branson(or Robert Bigelow or Elon Musk)create a virtual galactic,in this virtual world?
This could be a great way to show the public what sub orbital (& even orbital)space flights could be like in a few years from now.
People could go into the site, take a ride to the space station or one of Bigelow's space hotels.
They could even take people for that ride around the moon the russians have said they are willing to do,for 20million!
...& why stop there, why not ride to Mars, fly over Spirit & opportunity, olympus mons,or fly out to Jupiter, then fly past New Horizons,on your way to visit Cassini!
I know the hosts only have enough virtual land "built" at this stage to cover an area the size of San Fran, but if Branson or someone was to help out,
with the virtual infastructure, the sky could be the limit!
Clear skies :)

There is a game the name I can not recall that comes vey close to what you suggest that could fit Mr B's plans in with little effort.
Funny you should raise these virtual worlds I spent a little time today considering a business venture to introduce into virtual worlds. The irony was it is so doable and the opportunity has not been seen or acted upon at this point by anyone. The success of these worlds turns simply on the concept of reality is not as real as we sometimes think it to be.. the ease of making some fast money is appealing but more so the fact that the ideas we worked upon to day has not been done before holds the real appeal for me. Still when ever tempted to make money I ask what would I do with it and I always answer ...basically set up a life style I already enjoy... so what is the point dont waste the little time left on trying to accumulate more.
I was interested that to finance the proposition one can enter this virtual world and raise virtual capital, secure virtual premises, yet hire in effect real people to create real wealth. A very curious opportunity indeed.
