Apologies for the punny title - probably gone a bit crazy after hours of processing!
Two takes on the Dragons of Ara. An HOO version and a Hubble palette version
- The HOO has H added again as a luminance layer to try to reduce the noise a bit and shore up the contrast. Hence another weak pun ... it's an HHOO image, H2O2 ... or my peroxide dragons :D.
- This was my first ever serious attempt at a Hubble palette image and so it took a bit of tweaking and time. Advice welcome - but please be gentle!!

An exceedingly fine rendition. Perfect colour. Excellent detail.
Some might remove the pink rings round the stars, but it's a lot of work for little reward. Scientifically more legit to leave them in.
Ten out of ten. (And one bonus point for the pun.)

What M&T said, all time well spent I recon, both are fine versions, bit of roughness perhaps at full size but meah..no one looks at the big ones except looney worm hunters :P . Everyone shoots this bit of sky but in each and every image, no matter the quality, it is pretty clear why we all do it

Thanks - especially for the pity bonus point for the awful pun! I've reduced the magenta halos a bit on the latest Astrobin version - though left some of it in.
Thanks Mike. My only excuse re the roughness is that (a) suburban light pollution has an effect (even in narrowband), and (b) the nights were a mix of seeing conditions. Some brief periods of good seeing and some really shocking! Out of my control ... but if there's any processing that's rough I would like to try and fix it if possible.
Hopefully you didn't find any worms on your hunting though :scared3:

Hey, ya know what Paulie?... I had another look and it is not that bad, there is a little noise in places in the detailed ridge across the image but I think I fell victim to what "I" get annoyed about other people doing  :ashamed:...ie not looking at the image for long enough  (although I probably still looked at it far longer than most do, I'm sure ). After another , more careful peruse, the warts melt away somewhat and are minor at best and only detectable at full res anyay  so forget my first analysis :bashcomp:..great job mate...and no worms :D so Kemosabe .. Mike happy, hau! :hi:

Spectacular Paul
I can guess that a great result is proportional to a great effort.
Well done.

Thank you Peter.
I like the first one very much, Disco. I'm not so sure on the colour of the Hubble palette, still great data though! :)

I like both both Paul, but I actually love the first one !! it has a meaty texture suggesting roils and densities of clouds under radiation.

Not at all keen on the colours of the first one so I'll talk about the second one only if that's ok as I have more experience in NB HST palette imaging. :)
Great use of the colour palette, bold punchy contrast and IMO it's the best rendition of the recent flight of Dragons published here.
You're a master of that GSO RC, you consistently produce amazing sharp images with it with perfect round stars from cnr to cnr and that in itself is no mean feat! ;)
That said the only thing letting this otherwise very fine image down imo is the el cheapo ZWO NB filters. They have a bad rep for producing big bright haloes around the stars and this is really showing in your O3 regions.
Astrodon & Chroma NB filters are expensive for a good reason! (Chroma are now slightly better value) ;)
Mike gets great results from his Astronomics, but I've yet to see decent results from ZWO.
Hope that's useful - overall very well done!

Missed this one before but did comment on the ASSA FB page. Nice work Paul as I have come to expect in recent years. You continue to produce excellent images all with good processing.

Thank you!
Thanks Andy. Much appreciated.
I do like the RC8 scope. It was my initial imaging scope and I had planned to upgrade at some stage, but it continues to perform well so I have been sticking with it!
But yes, I'm saving my pennies for a set of Astrodons. The halos bug me too :-(
Thank you Paul.

Hi Paul,
What palette did you use on your SHO image? Nice shot.

Thanks Peter. It is a straight SHO->RGB and then tweaking the palette a bit as per this sort of approach https://www.lightvortexastronomy.com/tutorial-narrowband-hubble-palette.html
