Images of today's proms.
The hedgerow prom on the SE limb was very impressive!!
I need to improve my processing to bring out the full detail.
Full disk in CaK
Clouded out before being able to grab some DS Ha surface......
enjoy.

Good to see you managed to capture some images and nicely done. It is a spectacular prominence and has changed a bit since yesterday, of course.

These are really good Ken, as usual very well done! I have started my "journey" still have lot to learn about stacking Solar & Processing but here's my first real attempt today with a ZWO120MM & Lunt 60mm. It was qiite windy and played havoc but I am hooked! Might I ask for a few pointers & critic, if I may. I have used Sharp Cap & Autostakkert, I took 500 images, well it's a start.

Peter,
You’re off to a good start.
The tuning looks OK. Maybe the focus is a little soft.
I use FireCapture, AS3! and ImPPG for tweaking.
I think you have some detail which imPPG ( or Registax) could enhance.
My images were taken with a single stack SM60, and ASI 1600MM. You should be able to get similar results.

Thanks so much Ken,
Agreed focus is soft. I am waiting for the flange for my Moonlite motorised focuser to arrive from Ron, then I won't have to try and focus with a towel over my head as I did yesterday! Will be able to do from inside! You are right the video shows some detail so I have processed using a couple of Google guides on Registax and I think there is some detail now? This is addictive like my Supernova Search was! can only improve from here!

Peter,
That’s better!
I’d crop to focus the interest on the prom....
I use Corono to further emphasize the prom.
I found adding the SW motor to the 10:1 focuser and the Ha tuner has made things 100% easier.
Interested in your SN comments. I did visual SN search and chart checking in the 80’s, using a 12.5” f5 limiting mag 15.5 just 15km from Melbourne CBD.

This is much appreciated Ken, will look up Corono.
As I had a redundant Moonlite with a motor I thought may as well get the flange to add it to the Lunt. This way I can get away from a towel over my head!
Supernova comments - I am one of the BOSS team members... my own tally is 16 personal from the BOSS total of 190! My best discovery to date was SN2016adj in NGC5128. We are on target for 200 but it's getting harder so need another challenge. Am active in the AS-ASSN supernova project (unpaid professional astronomers!) a lot more than doing my own searches of late. Sun is becoming addictive hehe!
