I had a great night of viewing last night (Sat 17 March) under some very clear skies (well for at least half the night anyway before the humidity picked up) with the Astro Assn of Qld up at Warrill View.
A good sized group gathered together with a variety of scopes including one 20" monster. I reckon there must have been about 20 telescopes pointing skywards last night from that location...and I don't think anyone went home dissatisfied. The dark sky location was great; I had forgotten how good the sky looks outside the city lights.
The folks from the AAQ were all really good and helpful to a newbie such as myself and I picked up a fair bit of info...and the locations of a few new clusters etc.
Thanks to Tony, Tim, Dave and others. T'was a good night.
John
