Hi all - this is my first proper telescopic deep sky object in about 18 months. I've basically given up on getting out under dark skies (for a while at least) so decided to invest in an Optolong L-pro filter and try imaging from the Bortle 7 skies where I live.

This image was therefore a bit of a test - this object is probably more suited to narrowband imaging (Ha blend at least) but anyhow here it is.
4.6 hours with a modded Pentax K-5iis through a Skywatcher 190mm Maksutov Newtonian & Optolong L-Pro filter. Getting a decent colour rendition was quite a challenge but at least I didn't have nasty gradients to deal with.

I'm rather rusty with all of this so happy for some C&C. :)

Very fine! We've only ever tried it in narrowband. It looks quite different in natural colour (plus or minus the light pollution filter). In particular, there's the flaming scarlet "feather" at about 25% of the way to the right and 55% of the way down from the top. Fascinating.

Thanks Marc! :hi:

Thanks M&T!
Yes that feature has a markedly different colour (& even texture) to the rest of the nebulosity in the region.

Cheers Greg - much appreciated. :)
