Finally got the adapter I needed to space out my new STXL16200 with the
AFFC flattener. Got it to within 1mm of spec...very happy :D...precise parts do a great job, but not cheap...
and no refunds if you stuff up the arithmetic!
Hence I bagged some new luminance data with the new kit which was added to last years STX16803 data set.
The result is here (http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery467.html)

:eyepop: Sharp as. Hubblesque. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Did you shoot Ha for the red nebs or just straight RGB?
Peter Ward

Ta...and yes, Ha works well for the star-forming regions.
I've done this a few times now (e.g. Cent-A) but often the signal is very faint and does little for the rest of the galaxy's structure.

Itching to see a close up of this one. Is that the highest res you've got?

The original is 4k by 4k....but I don' t do full res on the web. (due..shock! Horror! ..people ripping-off images ).

Thank you guys...glad you like it. I'm still collecting data on this one, but have to say the seeing in my neck of the woods was appalling last night....will bin that set and try again this evening.

Stunning work on this Peter.
The detail in the core is quite mesmerising. :eyepop:

Quality is amazing... really a great image!
What do people do with stolen images? Sell them? Or just use them as their own for bragging rights?

Ta Andy. Photoshop gave it a little more "crunch" when reduced, I think it's not quite there yet, but close.
Ta, but you know how I feel about pixel largess :)
Thanks. Yes, companies and individuals use them without permission and there have been others (who must really suck at imaging) who are silly enough to say "look what I did with my 60mm Australian Geographic 600x telescope!"
Ta...it's not bad, but as usual, I am hamstrung by my Urban imaging location.... makes imaging Nirvana a challenge!

Christ on a bike!-that is like hovering over the galaxy in space. Super sharp and magnificent. I would have a t-shirt with that on no problems!!

Very 3D and very clear. I like the silvery tones the image has which is quite unique. Very sharp and detailed and love the stars. Great colours and tightness.

:thanx:... I do appreciate your feedback, but to save bandwidth I'll say this one is done and dusted for me ( at least for another year :) )
and will let it gracefully sink down the list, hence, while I'm not wanting to
be rude, I will not respond further to any "likes" unless you have a specific question.
