I havn't posted much on here recently, but I picked up a new camera setup for doing wide field shots that I am really happy with.
Sony a7iii camera
Sony 24mm f1.4 gmaster lens
Skywatcher Star adventurer.
f2.8 (I can probably shoot at f1.4 with this lens and still get a similar result)
iso 400
11 - 2.5 minute subs stacked.

Fabulous dust lanes against the bright stars. Impressive.

Looks impressive, could do with some other colours as perhaps a bit too yellow dominated.
The 24 1.4 GM lens is a winner and its one of the very very few lenses that work well wide open at F1.4.
Sigma Art lenses have the 40mm 1.4 which is also reputed to be good wide open but its an enormous, large and heavy lens plus very expensive.
Nice tight image and a very capable setup. A7iii is the best Sony full frame camera for nightscapes at the moment.

Grouse shootin' inspiring, I like it a lot & don't mind the golden color, I believe its quite natural. Having done a few myself (not of this caliber) seen the yellows show up in longish subs
Hoping for some clear nights next new moon, we's allowed to travel over 50ks now, so can get out of SE Qld Light-Pollution

That is a very fine wide field Milky Way shot Peter. Maybe a tiny bit of saturation boost would provide a small enhancement. Looks like an excellent camera and lens combination

Very nice. Those colors look like what I saw at Ilford one cold winter night. It was so still and so bright. You could see your shadow on the ground.
