Hi all,

It was nice to have a few clear nights, even though dry season has not yet fully kicked in in NQ.

I did not have a chance to properly align the camera after changing the focuser, so star shapes are still not great. I shall try fixing that when we will get a clear night again.

I have become a bit rusty with tri-colour processing :bashcomp: after such a long break :rain:, but at least my fishing and boating skills have improved significantly :fishing:

Medium resolution version (https://pbase.com/slawomirlipinski/image/170751507) with details and a high resolution version (https://a4.pbase.com/o12/75/1404475/1/170751507.WqaCrQR0.NewDragons.jpg).

New more balanced revision: https://a4.pbase.com/o12/75/1404475/1/170751507.MqEcDGxi.DragonsV3.jpg

Thank you for looking!

Nice dragons Suavi!

They reckon we are going to have above average rain fall over winter so I'm not sure how much imaging we will be doing. Hope they're wrong.

Stunning!
Educate me.... Is it Ha-OIII-SII?

Cheers,
Mick

Very good Suavi.

I have an image set of this as well but the processing is paused as I too regain my feet on narrowband.

This is a very blue version. The S11 seems to have done well on the twisty filaments. Perhaps too much blue though as the Ha is the dominant signal here does that mean you are missing out on some extra detail? I think the traditional red for the main body, blue in the hollow area and the mustard for the twisty filament is the best look but its narrowband so whatever takes your fancy.

Greg.

Very dramatic, nice bold colouring!

Miki, I believe it to be SII Ha OIII for RGB to give Hubble Palette colouring.

I.E. R = SII etc.

Magnificent - breathtaking. Definitely fighting dragons.

It's obvious the jpg compression on this forum kills some details, the medium and high resolution images are stunning!

That's really nice Suavi. You went for heavy saturation but it kind of works. Love the stars and details. So tiny.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you Kevin. I still hope we will get a few months of good astro weather.

Glad you like it Mick. It is S2 Ha O3, but I boosted S2 and O3 significantly to try matching Ha.

You are totally right Greg. I reprocessed the image and I like it much more. The first version was way too saturated!

Bold colouring - you are very polite

Thank you Mike and Trish for your unwavering encouragement :hi:

Thank you Nik!

Thank you Marc. I reprocessed the image, as colours were a bit over the top

Been a few of these babies posted lately but I like the organic look of this one Suavi, it looks very tactile too, nice job

Yeah I like that repro. A nicer colour balance.

I have a set of images for this one that is a bit bogged down in processing. I am finding it hard to bring out the blue.

Boom! That's been well & truly Suavified!
Nice work, that 'scope's a keeper allright.
I kinda preferred the intensity of the first one, the new one looks a bit vanilla in comparison.
Great to see you back imaging!

Smashin' it out of the park again, Suavi. Welcome back!

Thank you Lee. I underestimated how long wet season lasts in NQ...
but I do like the green!

Thank you Marcus - you are very kind.

LOL, I like the Suavified version too but at the same time I also like the vanilla version - does it mean I am beginning to develop a split personality
It is great to be back.

Thank you Greg, and I envy you having too much data!

:thanks: Mike. I could further improve processing - those red stars are quite annoying and I have totally forgotten to sharpen the image, but will leave it as is for now.

You are being very kind David.

Thank you JA :hi:

Detail in the core does it for me. There are some lovely striations visible around the bright O stars and just a bit further up.

No, Kimosuavi, big Dave not speak with forked tongue, image like sky, alive and kicking, like big Stallion. How! :hi:

Beautiful Suavi.
Actually, that'd look really nice projected onto the Grey Street bridge? :D

Great depth and delicious contrast. There are plenty of really good Dragons images on the forum at the moment but I think this one really stands out. Don't mind the palette either.

Thank you Paul for your encouragement :hi:

Thank you Mighty Mike, but it didn't even cross my mind that Big Dave would have spoken with forked tongue.

He he, good ol'days. I hope this version is more smooth though

Thank you Pete :hi:

An impressive Dragon there Suavi. Lovely rich tones and great 3D depth and sharpness.

Really nice Suavi! I definitely prefer the revised version more, the original seemed like it was overly bright everywhere where as the newer version is very balanced.

Like the images overall (not the stars so much, but I read your comments on them so I understand). What I find interesting are some of the mini pockets of colour - the green one and the star cluster/purple one. Such a nice contrast to the overall image.

I do need to do this area myself sometime, but not this year. :)

Thank you gents, now I can't wait for clear nights to have a chance of fixing the alignment and taking onto the next project.
