Looking forward to the Space X Demo 2 mission next Thursday ( Australian EST )
First manned space orbital mission from US soil since the retirement of the Shuttle program in July 2011

Let’s wish Doug and Bob a safe and successful launch and return to earth

Agreed Martin, but I am really more excited about the Starship SN4 test flight, and the SN5 altitude flight in a few weeks - that is where the future lies, imho.

Demo 2 launch scrubbed due to weather constraints ( localised thunderstorm activity)
Damn Florida summer weather
My wife and I toured the KSC for 3 days back in June 2018 and got caught in a filthy thunderstorm heading out to the Saturn 5 Apollo Centre
Incredible launch location but weather is very unstable and unpredictable in summer ( subtropical)
Next launch window early Sunday morning East Coast Aussie time

Weather along the Florida coast is very similar to the Queensland coast, unsurprisingly.

While that sometimes leads to dicey weather, the advantages of the launch site being closer to the equator are significant enough for them to do it. Florida is otherwise largely flat and swampy, so it's not like there were other natural advantages :rofl:

Something we should consider if/when we setup a spaceport...

Yeah, cant wait to see this historic return to manned flight for the yanks! With such a live flight, watching live will be very tense!

And gotta love the 2 veteran test pilots. Bob n Doug!

A textbook flight
Well done Space X and NASA
Dragon Capsule so futuristic compared to Apollo, the 3 touch screens are amazing
Can’t wait for the ISS docking

Great achievement by a private company
Doug and Bob can stretch their legs out for a while now
Last phase of mission, re entry, deployment of drouge and main shutes then splashdown will be the most dangerous phase of this entire mission
