I just found this (via SGL), this video about an astro shootout between a £6,000 setup vs a cheaper £600 setup.
Its very entertaining with lots of funny bits.

Hi Bill,
yes Astrobiscuit, (Rory) should have a television series.
For a youtuber, he really does a great job.
I have been enjoying his videos since he started.
Here is a video list.

And his Youtube homepage

A combination of humour and knowledge,
that equals great entertainment.
Paul.
Thanks, Really enjoyed that one!

Cheers Guys,
Thanks for those links Paul, Rory sounds so much like Hammond from Top Gear, that if you closed your eyes you would think that Top Gear has moved on from cars to telescopes.

Good find. That was fun to watch.
Of course, his premise that a cheap scope is as good as an expensive one is based on photo quality being the only goal. Maybe, just maybe, one's goal is to have the shiniest toys. ;)

Hi everyone,
I should also make comment regarding the Celestron mount
Rory uses in the shoot out video.
It is all so very true what he shows.
I own and `enjoy` the same mount,
a Celestron Advanced GT.
It sometimes has a mind and a will of it`s own.
Not to mention the sound it makes as it slews.
I kind of use the noise to my advantage now.
It gives the neighbours notice that I am out using my equipment,
and they tend to limit their outside lighting.
When the mount works, it works !!
Lesson is, do not loose power to it while in use,
it needs to be fully recalibrated, again.....
I use mine with a Celestron Sky-Portal wifi unit, and Sky-Portal app.
Takes away a lot of the usual setup info required in a handset.
Glad you enjoyed the links.
Thanks to Bill for sharing his find.
Paul.

Truly a humorous premise. Nice video quality and interesting concept.
Aside from the tilt, out of focus shots and what looks like average guiding, which would indicate user skill level; maybe it is supposed to be a comedy. Otherwise it is not a decent comparison.
I'll stick with my expensive gear for repeatability of results, especially in remote imaging. Still, good results can be obtained from modest equipment in a wide field setting.
