First attempt at a comet. Comet Swan Friday morning at 5am
35 x 1min subs on 80mm refractor.

Dodgy comet processing. Watched Harry's astroshed tutorial then tried it out. Couldn't figure out how to completely remove the star trails. Only processing was a bit of stretching, colour and noise reduction

Chris,
That’s fantastic considering it’s not a common practice imaging these events amongst most of us. I’m keen to have a go if the weather holds out. Although I too must sort out a method for processing as I’ve never attempted it before. Your pic in essence captures the comet as you would expect with the customary long tail and bright blob. The pesky star trails are the the only thing making this a ripper shot- I guess that’s something to solve with more research.

Well done Chris!

Thanks all. Pixinsight had a process for comets, I followed a simple video

I just have to tweak it a bit

It's probably too late to get the comet now as it hurtles around the sun. Maybe later this year on it's return path?
